Alois swiped everything off of his desk in a frustrated and angry manner. "How is this possible!?" On the floor among the papers was a letter that his father had written that was meant for his bastard of a brother. "How could my father even consider giving the kingdom to a half breed peasant!?" He picked up the paper and crumbled it up, throwing it into the fireplace. "As far as I'm aware sire, your mother has no knowledge of this information. It was meant for your brother's eyes and no one else," Tsuki said in an attempt to calm him down. "That filth is not my brother...," Alois said in a low, angry tone as he clenched his fist. "This is my kingdom... he doesn't deserve to be alive!" He turned and walked towards the door, stopping next to Tsuki for a moment. "Guarantee my throne. Find him and dispose of him. Do not fail me," he said before leaving the room. Tsuki bowed. "Yes, my prince." Alois went down to the throne room in search of his mother. When he arrived, he looked into her eyes. "Mother, I need an answer. When are you going to step down and let me take my rightful place in that chair?" As demanding for answers as always. He and Astrid often clashed and argued because of his attitude. "I have plans to make this country far better than it was when father was in power. Besides, a woman shouldn't be a ruler of anything. This is my birth right and I will not stand for your silly little power struggle." He didn't think very highly of women and had no respect for his mother. Not to mention he had a terrible attitude and often threw little tantrums until he got his way, but ever since his father passed, he hadn't been getting his way very often and it was not settling well. In all honesty, he was the one on a power struggle. He wanted to change things alright. Change this kingdom by forcing others to follow him and expanding their kingdom and he had no problem killing anyone who oppose him.

Raven sat on the roof of his little hideout on the outskirts of Mistral staring up at the night sky. The abandoned and forgotten church was worn down and no one bothered to travel there anymore. He pet his bird that sat on his hand, a large raven that followed him everywhere. His nickname was pretty obvious because of his love for these birds. Raven let out a heavy sigh. This was another night that he just couldn't seem to sleep. The nightmares only seemed to get worse and the exhaustion was pretty obvious. His bird cawed as he sent it off and began climbing down the ladder that led back into the church. As he reached the bottom, he looked over at his partner and closest friend, Squall, who was still sound asleep. The man was older than him, but they have gotten along like they had known each other forever. He may have been the one who found Squall originally, but he always felt that the man had saved him in a way and Raven has been attached to him like a lost puppy ever since. Originally he recruited Squall's help to get revenge on the kingdoms, having a deep hatred for royals and nobles in this world and wanting to free the people from these tyrants. But in the past year or so, he realized he would be devastated if something happened to his friend. Though, he wasn't sure how Squall felt about him. He walked over to the man's bed and sat on his knees next to it. He rested his arms on the bed and laid his head down on them, just watching Squall sleep. He usually came over whenever he had his nightmares and soon found himself falling asleep again. The sun would be rising soon and when night fell again they were going to sneak into the party that was to take place. But until then, they were killing time.

Eri was out where Laurene and Aerith lived. With the potential plan for Laurene to have an arranged marriage with Kotaro, he had been temporarily reassigned to escort the nobles to the palace safely. He knew Laurene well when she used to visit the palace as a child, but Aerith was someone he barely knew. The fact that she was attending the party this time was something rare since he couldn't recall her ever visiting the palace before. Eri was a young soldier attempting to follow in his father's foot steps. His job was to escort them as soon as the sun began to rise since it was over half a days travel before they were to arrive at the palace. He was patrolling the grounds, mainly trying to keep himself busy until they had to leave. It was raining, but not heavy enough for it to bother him. As he went into the garden, he stopped. There in the garden standing under the rain was a young woman. She had long beautiful hair and a pale complexion. Her clothes were more casual, yet refined. She stood there looking relaxed and enjoying nature. A small smile crossed his lips. This girl reminded him of his late fiance, the princess of Mistral. Normally he wouldn't think twice about speaking with a noble because of his rank in social status, but seeing her brought back memories of Kaiya. "You'll catch a cold if you stay out here Lady Aerith," he said as walked over to her, but stayed several steps away to try and not overstep any bounds.

Kotaro was up pretty early as usual and was just kind of wandering the palace alone. He never really spoke to anyone since his sister's passing and rarely left his room. When he did, he kept to himself and avoided most people. There was one person he had been kind of watching from a distance though. She was a few years older than him and a servant girl in the palace, but she wasn't like the others. She was clumsy and awkward and always seemed to be trying her best even if she was having issues. He was near the servants quarters, kind of keeping to himself. Kotaro was watching Amaryllis with curiosity as she did some of the laundry. The skies were clear here and even though it was early morning it was fairly warm outside already. He leaned up against the wall and crossed his arms, not exactly being discreet. Actually, he usually made the servants nervous because they thought he was watching everyone as if evaluating them. Truthfully, he had no interest in any of them. He only came to watch the new girl. Kotaro wasn't sure why he liked watching her work so much. Maybe it was because she was unique compared to the others who all seemed to kiss ass and act the same with no personality. He wanted to talk to her and see what she was like as a person instead of observing from a distance. He looked away whenever she might shoot a glance in his direction.

Aito was in his study reading through his scriptures and preparing things for a possible wedding that may or may not take place. After all, Kotaro still had a choice in the matter and knowing that boy he wasn't planning on marrying someone like Laurene. After a while, he closed his book and stood up from his desk, placing it back on a shelf. "I wonder if Eri is causing trouble?" He asked himself, knowing his brother could be a bit reckless and stray from what he was supposed to be doing easily. Actually, he kind of had a thing for Laurene, but never really acted on it because he was a priest. He decided to go looking for the prince, knowing he would be up at this time and decided to see what he was up to today. It didn't take long to find him as he walked over to Kotaro and leaned up against the wall next to him. "Out watching the servant girls again I see. You know, most royals have better hobbies than stalking women," he teased, receiving an annoyed glare from the prince that only made him laugh.

(I will add the king later when it gets closer to the party. I wanted to take the story in a new direction and I do have character sheets for Alois and Tsuki.)

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Astrid was minding over some important issues on the outter politics concearning the neighboring countries. It was a few months since she had become a widow and she had no intention of stepping down for her son to take the throne. Not as he was at the moment at least. He was all sorts of childish and no king as of yet. He had been way too spoiled and him walking in her meeting with the generals only prooved her point of him being immature to rule. Coutrly dismissing the military heads from the room to speak in privacy with her son she shook her head. "I am not going to step down. Your father did die but you are not his only son and had my wish been fullfilled you wouldn't be the one demanding the throne. Since I had to put up with being royal not to lose my head, you will learn to respect females. On a one on one battle, I would have your head and that was a requirement for our higher ups." She stated calmly as she looked at the map in front of her in deep thought. She knew he held little to no respect towards people and that was why she had no intention to let him take her place, even if she had to lie and mud her own name for it. "Plus you have no right to demand things." She sighed and lifted her head up to stare at him blankly.

Far from that place, Amaryllis was washing a few clothes. It looked like the only thing she was comfortable with was made of fabric. Clothes, blankets, coats, they all seemed to he working perfectly with her. Everything else seemed out of place with her clumsiness and inability to even wash the dishes without breaking at least one cup or getting her hands stabbed on the forks. it didn't stop her from trying though, it never did. She was always striving to do better, time and time again and lately she had an audience while at it. At frist, she had no idea who that man was but everyone seemed to be trying harder and trying to impress the man who she thought to be an inspector but one of the other ladies there told him that he was actually the prince. Her first thought was why would he wander around but she had also heard of the death of his sister. She could relate and seeing how most of the servants were running out of his way and taking the long routes to avoid his eye. She looked around a little before hanging the last of the washed clothes before walking to the basins where they kept the water picking two cups and filling them. To the brunette, he didn't pass unnoticed, how could he when the place seemed to quiet down a lot from the moment he appeared until several minutes after his departure? Walking up to him and curtsying in front of him before offering him the cup of water with a small smile on her face. She wasn't to speak unless she was spoken to but having him stand there and watch the life in the castle go by, she couldn't help but think he would have gotten thirsty at some point.

(Is it okay if I bring a couple more characters? I mean I have a couple more ideas that might suit the general plot.)

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Ever since the Duke found Aerith in the woods, she had been part of the family ever since. However, Laurene wasn't very fond of the idea and always make sure, one way or another, to ridicule Aerith and remind her place in this household. Surprisingly or not, Laurene's methods worked, may it be her power as a Duchess or simply brainwashing, resulting in the maids, servants  and even family friends to push Aerith aside. Even outside the castle, Aerith was the talk of the town yet no one dared to face her head on, it was always hushs and whispers. Today however, was the day Lady Aerith, the adopted daughter of Duke Luce of Rivendell, would be introduced to the public and hopefully find a suitable husband. Oh, how many times Laurene argued Aerith shouldn't go, the Duke almost fell ill. A bitter smile appeared on Aerith's lips as she tended to the garden's flowers when it suddenly started raining. Was it an omen? She thought while standing up and raised her glance towards the dark gray sky, closing her eyes. The rain drops falling on her face felt cathartic; it always made her forget her woes. That is... Until Eri interrupted her. "Thank you for your concern but this is nothing but a drizzle." Aerith replied with a genuine smile, making slow steps towards him but always keeping a safe distance. "You must be looking for my sister. She is in her private chambers." She then added as she knelt down again to tend to the flowers, assuming Eri had nothing to with her, as she is used to stay in the shadows, here mere existance causing whispers.

This abandoned and forgotten church was one of Squall's favorite hideouts. The silence always felt haunting, the dusty furniture and torn pictures adding to the ambience. Despite of this, Squall never thought the place as eerie, there were flowers blooming in occassional spots and Raven always seemed to make the place brighter with his smile. Yeah, Raven. He would be lost without Raven, the boy showed him a way to live for after losing his whole family. Frequent nightmares visit Squall at night; it is always the same dream. He is looking for his lost sister in the woods, searching for her day and night, screaming her name. There is no response. It's been eleven years since then and yet doesn't admit she may be dead. Today too, was no different. The sheets moved violently on the makeshift bed as Squall kept kicking his legs, murmuring something among the lines 'leave me' before forcibly waking up. He takes a deep breath and tries to calm down, slowly realising this was no dream but reality. His gaze meets Raven who sits nearby and smiles, wipping his sweat of with the corner of the sheet. "Can't sleep either? We got so much time to kill until the party. What is our plan again?"

((will post the rest characters at the party + will create new characters and make a few changes to the old))

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Kotaro glanced up at Amaryllis approached him, a bit curious as to what she was up to. Normally everyone avoided him, but this girl was offering him water. After a moment, he slowly reached out and took the cup from her, staring down at its contents before going to take a drink only to be greeted with a smack to the back of the head, spilling some of the water and having to take a step forward to keep from falling. "Don't be rude," Aito said before crossing his arms again. He was probably one of the only people who could get away with that considering his job was to keep the kids in line. Kotaro rubbed his head, pouting slightly. "Thank you," he said to Amaryllis before taking a drink this time. Kotaro paid no attention to some of the stares coming from the other servants around them, but did feel a little out of place. Aito smiled, then turned his attention to the young servant. "You'll have to excuse him. His highness sometimes forgets his manners," he explained, taking a moment to analyze her appearance a bit before turning his attention back to the prince. "Your father wanted to speak with you this morning. I wouldn't keep him waiting." Kotaro glanced up at the priest and seemed a little reluctant before nodding his head, then looked back at Amaryllis for a brief moment before walking back into the castle. Aito watched as he left, then looked at the young woman with a bright smile. "Can you spare a moment? I have something I'd like to discuss with you."

Alois narrowed his eyes as he listened to his mother's words. He almost couldn't believe what he was hearing. "His other son is nothing more than the child of a slutty servant mother. But you already knew that. Father sure had a thing for easy women. What was her name again? Helena?" At least, in his mind that was how he viewed his father's mistress. In reality, she wasn't in much of a different position as Astrid was. Just another woman forced into things to save her own life. Helena, at least while she lived in the castle, was her personal maid for the first few years of Astrid's marriage. Actually, even when she left she often wrote to Astrid to check in and see how the queen was doing. Helena kept her child, but not in hopes that he would become king someday. Because she wanted him to have a chance in this world and she often told Astrid about him in her letters. Hideaki was raised very differently from Alois. Growing up on the outside of luxury, he learned what the people needed and was well known for helping others out. But the night of his mother's death, he disappeared and it was rumored he fled to the neighboring kingdom. "So, should I bring you the rat's head in order to prove my worth? You would give a commoner the throne and ignore your own flesh and blood? I believe you are the one who needs to learn some respect mother." He met her gaze, clearly not willing to back down from this constant battle he had with her. "And what is this about a meeting with the king of Mistral tonight? I don't remember agreeing meeting with our enemies."

(As a side note for u two, you can write whatever you want in response to things like this. The story is fairly free ranged and I can adapt to it easily so don't worry about asking first Smile just have fun with it <3 )

Raven lifted his head up as he felt Squall moving violently under the sheet and cautiously reached his hand out, placing it on Squall's arm. He shook his head and sat back on his knees, looking off to the side. "I had another nightmare was all." He never really explained to Squall what his nightmares were about, usually just keeping it vague. It wasn't that he didn't want to tell his friend what they were about, but that he didn't want Squall to know about his ties to the neighboring kingdom. When he told the man that he wanted to take out the royals and nobles years ago, he followed without question. Raven was just tired of how they ruled their kingdoms, leaving others to fend for themselves while they all lived comfortably and not a care in the world. Things needed to change. Raven looked at it in a more democratic matter where more should be involved in decisions rather than a single person. His mother had raised him to be the complete opposite of his father and he didn't want to let her down. He breathed a soft sigh as he lifted his head and locked eyes with Squall. "We simply play the part and blend in. There is a rumor that this gathering is to find a potential wife for the prince. I'd like to prolong his rule for a while and scare him a bit by taking out anyone one he might be interested in. I also hear the duke is coming with his daughters to try and arrange a marriage... we might be able to kill two birds with one stone. Luckily this is a masked ball so we shouldn't draw any suspicion." He paused for a moment, his gaze lowering to his hands in his lap. "The guards are still on edge... and they may be doubled. Queen Astrid is supposed to be attending, but I'm not sure why yet and I don't know who she is bringing with her. We should be cautious before making any moves," he said, sounding a little uneasy. He had never met the queen, but he did look a lot like his father. He hoped he wouldn't be recognized.

Eri watched the young woman curiously as she spoke, a small smile on his lips. "I'd rather not visit Laurene in her chambers if I can help it. I had my fill of her personality when we were kids," he explained, letting her know that he had known Laurene for many years, not referring to her as lady or duchess like everyone else but calling her by her name. "Besides, I'm the guard from the palace that's supposed to escort your family there safely. I'm not here to see anyone in particular," he said as he took a moment to examine the flowers. He had yet to hear anyone talk about her, but then again he normally didn't listen to rumors and rarely spoke with the servants. He could only imagine what Laurene would tell him later. But, for now, his impression of Aerith wasn't a bad one. The girl didn't seem to blend well with this life of luxury and that was the reason he took notice of her. "The garden looks much nicer than the last time I visited. You certainty have a magic touch," he said as he walked over to a bed of lilies and gently caressed the petals, admiring their quality.

(I'll make some characters here pretty soon after I work on some other roleplays)

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Mon 06 Mar 2017, 10:06 pm
Amaryllis took a small jump back shrieking softly at the man hitting the prince on the head. She was surprised and scared of what would befall the man as she curtsied towards him too shaking her head ever so slightly. "It's okay. His Highness must have been a little too much into his thoughts. Besides, losing a sister is a big deal, I know first hand so my condolencies." She smiled and curtsied and was going to turn to leave though she didn't before the man she was a little scared of requested to talk with her. "Of course! If it is because of the broken cup, I'll buy a new one! I'll do my best, I promise!" She said panicking. He was attractive. Most people around here were. Even the servants, not just the nobles but no amount of attractiveness could make her feel less intimidated, less scared. Had she been any less clumsy, she wouldn't mind a talk. But seeing how she was the exact opposite she was scared of losing her job. A job she needed to keep for more than just herself, for her family.

Astrid did not like his ways. He was her son and she was supposed to love him but with the way he acted, she couldn't stand him. "Then I can have you tried for treason. If his shoulders are lighter because you, the illigitimate person claiming the throne, you shall be tried for treason. At least the bastard is the late king's son and Helena is more of a human than you will ever be." She said as she made her way to the throne sitting down with a smirk playing on her lips. She would start working the deal of convincing everyone from now so she can stop it if it came to him ascending to the throne. "You see, when you force a marriage, things like that happen." the elder of the two said as she crossed her legs, her armor clanking a little as she moved around. "First of all, you view him as an enemy, truth is, we are allies of sorts. We have declared truce if you haven't noticed."

(Bringing in Laurene's mom! :3 Will bring more)

Evelyndt was sitting on the couch comfortably, she had a small glass of liquor in her hand laughing at a joke one of her friends who had come over said. The middle aged woman was a menace. She would think of the most absurd plans to get her way and of course they had countless victims. She was also discreet at times. She would pass her point by saying stories all the time that were beating around the bush from what she wanted to say, but all those that had to understand did. "Oh, Linda, go fetch another round of liquors and tell Laurene to join us." She laughed as she slowed down and went on paying attention to her friends that were most of the times just like her, birds of a feather, after all, flock together.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Tue 07 Mar 2017, 9:56 pm
Since the Adraelian Kingdom's announcement of the ball, every day has been hectic. Thousands of orders were made by the palace and nobles, asking for the best baked goods the family could offer. Because of the countless shipments that had to be made, most of the Baker family was absent leaving only Libertus and his mother in charge of the Bakery. Today was no different. It was around time to close shop and they duo were sorting out the last of the deliveries, Libertus carrying some baguettes in his flour-dough dirty apron when a customer entered. "I am sorry but we are clo- Oh!" It was that boy again. Libertus smiled, carefully placing the  baguettes on the counter. He didn't know the boy's name but he could recognise he was a frequent customer. Every single week, on the same day, the boy would visit with no exception. "Most of our products are sold out but I have kept some for you." Libertus then said, wraping the baguettes in a towel before placing them on a wooden basket and then leaned to take out a dish covered with a lid. Just as he was about to open the lid, a loud female voice was heard from upstairs. "Libertus! Why is that stupid book about stars on the floor again?!" Libertus blushed in embarrassment, his gaze falling to the ground briefly. "M-Mom! There is a customer! I- I am sorry..." His last sentence was directed to Kei, whom he apologetically glanced with a faint blush after revealing a steaming hot slice of apple pie. He didn't want to admit, but it was the only thing he managed to hide away for the boy. "You- You usually buy sweet stuff but the chocolate cookies were immediatelly sold out." He continued, sliding the dish towards the boy with a bright smile as he then wiped some of his sweat off using his apron. "It's on the house. We will be closed next week however for the Adraelian Prince's ball." Libertus added, assuming the boy was a mere commoner and not an actual Viscount, figuring the boy held his pocket money to buy baked goods.

Princess Kaiya's mysterious death gave birth to numerous whispers about conspiracies and one question; If and who will Prince Kotaro marry. The Prince was the top bachelor but a marriage had to be made in order to secure the throne. Various circles tried to promote Duchess Laurene since a very young age to be his bride for their personal interests and that is how the friendship between the two Kingdoms begun, though Laurene's heart was taken by someone else she had met within those castle walls. "Duchess Laurene, your mother requested your presence." A voice was heard outside Laurene's chambers, followed by a knock. "I'll be there in a moment." She responded, placing the brush on the vanity with a faint sigh and then stood up. Was it going to be about her marriage? Her mother sure loved telling stories, though Laurene was tired of them. "Mother, you asked for me?" She politely bowed in front of the ladies, refusing to take a drink that a servant offered and then approached her mother, slightly leaning to her ear and descreetly whisper. "Mind I advise you Mother that we have a ball to attend?" The words are full of sarcasm and accompanied by an impish smile, puting emphasis on the word Mother as Laurene only called her that way in public. In close quarters; it was simply mom.

As Aerith tended to the beds of Lavender, nearby the Lilies, shoveling the ground to place new seeds, she glanced up Eri with snicker. Laurene was a little brat many years ago, always making the castle guards go looking for her, terrified she may have been lost, or worse; abducted. That attitude certainly hasn't change years later. If anything, it has become slier. "Then I must feel honored you chose to converse with me." Aerith replied with an eloquent as she proceeded to cover the seeded patch and then stood up, gently dusting off her dirt covered dress. "As for the flowers... Well... Thank you. But it wouldn't be without the servants' help. I'll pass their compliments to them." She humbly replied, indeed not believing she had a magic of sorts regarding the plants and... Perhaps she was never used to hearing compliments. "So um..." A blush appeared on her cheeks as she attempted to hide her dirty hands behind her back. "I've never been to the Castle before. Even so, a ball. What is it like?"

((I won't RP Squall's part until the ball since there is nothing of importance to be said and moreover, since all of us will have a huge cast, I want other characters to take the spotlight too. I am also doing this to reduce the size post but mainly to not bore you with unwanted detail and stuff since this RP will drag on for long, considering the many characters we plan to kill off/inprison and whatnot. Edit: Unless there is no agreement to this of course.))

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Wed 08 Mar 2017, 3:43 am
"I see. I'm sorry to hear that," Aito said as he began walking with her. "Oh no, that's not a big deal. A cup is a cup my dear," Aito said, waving his hand with a smile to brush off that subject. "I've noticed the prince has been coming to observe the servants quite often. I thought it was a bit strange to be honest," he said as he glanced down at the young woman. "He never used to have anything to do with the servants. His sister was normally the one who would come and help them out. She was such a sweet young lady." Aito closed his eyes for a moment, having watched the twins since they were children and was a little saddened as he remembered the princess. "At first, I thought he had been visiting because he was trying to cope with things or knew no one would bother him..., but then I realized that wasn't the case." He opened his eyes, looking down at Amaryllis. "It seems he only comes out when you are working. I wonder why that is?" He was more asking himself that question as he took another moment to get a good look at the woman. He stopped, turning to face her as he placed his elbow in one hand, his fingers resting under his chin. The silence seemed to go on forever as he thought long and hard about an explanation. "Perhaps you've captured his interest in some way. I wonder if we should test that theory..." Again, he seemed to be talking to himself rather than to her. It probably would feel pretty strange and uncomfortable as he kept looking her up and down, now circling the young woman slowly and getting a very thorough look at her. "By chance, do you have an outfit you could wear for tonight's event?" He suddenly asked, completely serious as he stood in front of Amaryllis again with a smile, thinking that he might have her dress up and speak with the prince just to test his theory.

Alois tensed as his mother explained how she would charge him for treason if he were to kill his brother. Not only that, but the way she made it sound, made it seem like his brother would be the one sitting on that throne. He clenched his fist, grinding his teeth as he lowered his gaze to the floor, a small smirk creeping across his lips. "Good luck finding that little rodent. He's already run from our kingdom. That desertion is not easily forgiven," he said, his only hope that their people wouldn't be so fond of a king that was so willing to abandon his homeland. "We'll see how long that truce lasts," he said as he turned and left the room without another word, shoving the guard that entered the room out of the way. Natsuko watched the young man for a moment, irritated by his rude manner before turning to his queen. He placed his hand on his chest and bowed to her. "Forgive my intrusion your highness, but your carriage is ready like you requested. We can depart whenever you wish," he stated, keeping his head down as he waited for her to address him.

Kei fidgeted with his mask as he walked. He always seemed to wear it on his head, being a gift from his mother. He rarely used it to cover his face though and it was probably the best way to recognize him from afar. His brother, Kaii, had a similar mask except it was white. The young bout let out a sigh, walking the streets within Rivenfall and avoiding any interactions with the people if he could help it. He was glad he was the youngest sometimes because people didn't recognize him as a viscount. Not that he was very involved with the political side of things or the people just yet. He was just not the leading type like his brothers were. He slowly made his way to the bakery that he often visited each week, never staying for more than a few minutes at a time. It had just become a routine to sneak away from his life and pretend to be a normal person when he came here. He entered the shop, kind of looking around as he went over to the counter to examine the empty shelves when he was greeted by the one person he liked to come see. Libertus looked like he had been working hard considering how much he was covered in raw flour and dough. "You didn't have to..." He didn't want to be an inconvenience, but he couldn't help the smile that crossed his lips that the other boy had actually thought to save something for him as he looked at the dish on the counter. Kei glanced towards the voice that came from upstairs and rubbed his head nervously before looking back at Libertus. "It's okay...," he said, still acting shy even though he had come here so often. Though, the book kind of peaked his curiosity a little. He looked at the pie and his eyes lit up. It looked really good! "That's alright. Thank you!" He said, closing his eyes with smile. He opened his eyes, a little surprised as he tilted his head to the side when Libertus told him it was on the house, but before he could try to convince the boy otherwise, another thing caught his attention as he smiled and happily accepted treat. "The ball huh? Maybe I'll see you there," he said as he turned and headed towards the door, but stopped for a moment before exiting to turn back and look at Libertus. "You can... tell me about the stars," he said before leaving the shop. The fact that he was attending the ball was a surprise in itself. Kei didn't seem like the type to enjoy things like that and truthfully, he wasn't. Originally he hadn't planned to go, but had changed his mind when Libertus said he would be there.

Eri glanced over at the young girl and smiled. "Well, under normal circumstances I wouldn't dare approach a lady of your stature, but you didn't seem like the type to turn me away for stepping out of my social class," he explained, carefully picking one of the lilies as he stood up and turned to face Aerith. "Talented and modest. You have a refreshing personality to be around m'lady," he said as he walked up to her. He didn't even hesitate as he placed the flower behind Aerith's ear. "The castle is quite beautiful. I'll be happy to give you a tour when the time allows. Now miss, you should get cleaned up. We should be departing soon," he said as he took a step back and bowed to her before turning and heading back the way he had came to see if the carriage was ready.

(I'll add the brothers in at the party as well as bring Kotaro and the king back in during that time. Tsuki will also be riding alongside the carriage on a horse, but Alois will stay behind for now. I think I'm going to get the event started just to move things along if that's all right with everyone after you respond to what was posted ^^ )

"A lot of people showed...," Kotaro said to himself as he stood next to his father's throne, adjusting his mask and clearly uncomfortable. "Stop fidgeting," Kumori said to his son as he glanced around the room, watching the guests as they arrived and was greeting the VIP's if you will. Toshiro was the one who approached, wearing a white mask with intricate golden details over his eyes with his two brother's on either side of him wearing their white and black cat masks. "Your majesty," Toshiro said as he bowed deeply, his brothers following suit. "Viscount. It's a pleasure to see you were able to join us and your brothers as well." Viscount Toshiro was widely recognized as one of the voices of the people per say. The man often traveled from place to place, making sure his people were happy and well taken care of. Probably one of the more rare high class people that treated commoners as equals. "Of course. I would never miss an important meeting as part of the council," Toshiro said as he stood up straight and smiled at the man. "We'll begin in a few hours. For now, enjoy the events," Kumori said as he dismissed the man. Toshiro nodded, bowing again before walking away with his brothers. "I want both of you on your best behavior. No jokes, no hiding," Toshiro said as he scolded his brothers. "Yes sir," Kaii said, a hint of sarcasm in his voice as he smirked under his mask. Kei just nodded, adjusting his black mask as he looked around. The boy wasn't comfortable in such a setting, but he would make due for his brother's sake. He was only here to see Libertus anyways, but he wasn't even sure where to begin looking or what the boy would be wearing. However, Kaii was already not listening as he grabbed his younger brother's arm and dragged him over to a few of the servants. "Hello ladies! How're you tonight? Have I got a show for you," He said charmingly as he took out a deck of cards, planning to show them some magic tricks as the girls giggled. Kei shook his head with a sigh, knowing he was about to be a pawn in all of this. Aito smiled down at the girl as they walked into the throne room. "You seem nervous," he said as he watched Amaryllis closely. "Don't be. Just enjoy yourself and have fun. You are my guest tonight after all," he said as he winked at her, already planning to arrange for the prince to meet with her soon.

Raven was standing in the crowd and blending in with his partner, looking about the room. "Seems like the council is meeting for something," he said as he noticed that the Viscount had arrived as well as the Duke. Even the head guard seemed to be walking around, another member of the council. "We might be able to make more of an impact than we originally thought," he said, his eyes looking wandering over to the prince. "We'll wait for an opening... do you think you can handle the Duke?" He asked Squall as he watched the Duke approach the king with his daughters and wife. Kotaro looked at Laurene for a moment, a little weird that his father was trying to arrange a marriage between him and his childhood friend. The girl... really wasn't his type. "May I present the Duke and Duchess of Rivenfall," Eri said as he bowed to his king, getting a dismissal wave as a response and Eri nodded as he stepped off to the side. "Welcome my old friend," Kumori said with a smile addressed to the Duke. "Evelyndt, you look as lovely as ever," he said as he looked at the Duchess. "You both remember my son," he said as he motioned his hand to Kotaro who awkwardly smiled at them. "It's a pleasure to see both of you again," Kotaro said, trying his best to be respectful as possible, but his attention went to the entrance of the throne room. Tsuki and Natsuko both stood a few steps behind their Queen as she was being escorted by another guard, Kumori this time standing to greet her because she was his special guest of the evening. "If you'll both excuse me, my honored guest has arrived. I'll call you shortly," Kumori said to the Duke with a smile, not intending to be rude as he turned his attention to Astrid. The guard quickly bowed before walking away after escorting her to the king. "It's an honor to be graced with your presence your majesty. I apologies for the short notice on the event," Kumori said as he smiled at the woman. Kotaro glanced over at his father, then looked back at the woman. He knew who she was, but this was the first time he had actually met her. "Was your son unable to join us?" Kumori asked as he looked at the two guards for a moment before looking back at Astrid.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Sat 11 Mar 2017, 9:27 pm
To Amaryllis the presence of the prince was nothing new, instead she was used to it by now, but being questioned about it made her inwardly panic. Sure, she was relieved that the cup incident wouldn't cost her the job but she didn't expect to be faced with a much greater question in hand. "I- I have taken notice of him. It's hard not to when the place becomes empty but I swear, it's the first time I've ever approached him today. I can perhaps explain matters to head seamstress and relief me from duties that would allow me to come in contact with him if you wish to, sir." She blabbed away carelessly and scared. She was being inspected on every aspect but the idea of the prince actually taking an interest in her was somewhat outrageous. She wasn't a highborn, she wasn't even all that pretty but she wasn't about to say her thoughts out loud. It wasn't her choice or doing whatsoever but the big shock had yet to come. Listening him with his theory and putting it to the test, she was more that scared to abide. "No. I don't have one but I can make something appropriate. I came as a seamstress here after all. But is it appropriate? What about entering? They announce names and titles and I am not highborn." she said and looked down biting her lower lip nervously. She had instantly halfway regretted agreeing to test his theory but he could have her fired and she was scared of him, she couldn't do much.

Evelyndt chuckled at her daughter's notice and nodded her head. "Laurene! Sweetheart! Come, accompany me to the carriage, we need to talk. You know, last time there was a ball, your father, a really marvelous man, he walked me to the carriage and we said we would let you girls have one carriage for yourselves but I decided this time, we should have a little chat just the two of us. Now tell me, do you remember that friend of mine, Lalise? She went to that kingdom about a moon ago. She had an amazing cake prepared at a bakery there, she's given me the address. Perhaps we should visit that place, wouldn't you agree darling?" the middle aged woman blabbed and spoke away easily with her favourite of her daughters, her biological one and soon they were at the castle and going to be greeted by the king and Kotaro. "Why thank you your highness. I have to admit time has been way too kind to you." the female smiled and curtsied at him before turning her attention to the young prince. "Kotaro dear! How have you been sweetheart? Now that I look at you, I saw a coat the other day when I had Laurene's dressed measured at the seamstress that would look marvelous on you. You should wear more blue! It suits you. I hope we get to talk about that more later!" She smiled and walked away as queen Astrid came to talk with the king in what Evelyndt would only assume were formal battle wear.

Astrid sighed as her son walked out smiling weakly at Natsuko. Alois may have been a selfish boy who had yet to mature when it came to mentality but the man in front of her had done nothing to keep her son in that state, he had done nothing wrong and she was to treat him fairly. "It's okay Natsuko. We should get going." She said and started walking towards the carriage in deep thought before asking the man. "Natsuko, I think of announcing that Alois is an illegitimate son of mine and not let him take the throne. I sure can't keep the throne for myself and he isn't ready. I need your help." the blonde said once the doors of the carriage were closed and they were on the move to the ball. "He holds little to no respect for the people and the female population and on top of that he's way too blood thursty to be in charde of a military power like ours. The late king had made wise choices when it came to holding the peace and only taking the lands that were deemed as useless of sorts before turning them into goldmines. He has no such vision." Astrid sighed and kept silent for most of the ride to the neighbouring kingdom as she had to write to Helena, ask her about her son and her plan before entrusting him to deliver it there. "I can only trust you." She told him before she walked towards the King smiling brightly. "It is an honour to be invited my King. As for Alois, I apologise for his absence but he had other pressing matters at home, he is to leave for a mission soon and he needs all the training he can get till then. It's an honour to meet prince Kotaro as well. I'm afraid your name preceeds you your highness." She said grinning glancing around for a moment, her mask a simple design from iron.

In the mean time, Amaryllis had managed to make herself a black and white dress, seeing that's the colours she managed to get fabric of. She was fidgetting in her simple black and white mask as she's never felt more out of place walking in the ball room with Aito by her side. "Easier said than done. It's not like I've ever been at a ball before to know what I'm supposed to do sir." She said a little too fast before reaching up and putting a hand over her mouth realising he had just blurted out her thoughts to her supperior. "I'm sorry sir. I didn't mean to say that out loud." the brunette said and looked up at him with wide eyes.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Sun 12 Mar 2017, 9:15 pm
The Baker family, albeit belonging to the middle class, was not one to attend frivolous events. Business however, always brought them to the palace and Libertus, oh Libertus loved balls. Unfortunately, he never once received an invitation despite his sisters accepting 17 of them. On this evening though, he had plans. The young boy that frequent the bakery said he would be there and he wanted to be taught about the stars. That made Libertus the happiest. Maybe, just maybe, they could meet at the ball.

Speaking about bakeries... Laurene followed behind her mother to the carriage, with one hand holding the hem of her dress a bit higher so it wouldn't get dirty. The two enter the vehicle and Laurene uses her usual sarcastic tone to adress her mother. "Oh, why Mother, it must be Aerith's acquaintance you are talking about. Isn't that boy a Baker? You know, the only male of the family besides the father, the kind of slow one?" Libertus immidiatelly comes to her mind, as the boy had visited the estate countless times, bringing baked goods for her sister. "But that isn't important." She continues, a chuckle escaping her lips beforing finishing with a faint sigh. "Supposedly, Aerith teaches him how to read. Isn't that ridiculous if not ironic? Ah, mom. When will she learn how to read herself? She is a disgrace to us all..." How father could accept that scrawny thing as family, was beyond what Laurene could comprehend.

Once they arrived at the palace and Mother made the introductions, Laurene politely bowed to the King and then the Prince, Kotaro. Surely there was no need for introductions to be made but it was pure courtesy from their part. "Prince Kotaro." Laurene exhales with a smile she tries to content and rises again, her voice gentle and calm. Had they been elsewhere and not in front of prying eyes, she would undoubtedly call the Prince by his name like they used to, in all the summers she had visited. "You must forgive my mother for she believes fashion is of great importance. I hope you like the aperitifs however, the Baker family outdid themselves on this occassion. We are blessed to have been good friends with them." Laurene says with a natural smile that only her mother could call fake, lying in the proccess on how they met the Bakers. Again, not even mentioning Aerith. Ah, God had blessed her with such great acting skills, if only now she could use them on Aito... Aito, where is he? Laurene's eyes shifted to the rear and the castle guard but the man was nowhere to be found. Her glance then fell to the ground, letting out a soft sigh. Of course he is not there, he has other business to attend to, not some spoiled girl's errands. Even in summer, she spend more time gossiping with the guards rather being with Aito. Was he always this distant? She wonders and walks to the bouffet.

In the meantime, Duke Luce had just arrived with his daughter Lady Aerith to the palace's gardens, in their own carriage. "My daughter." The Duke says, holding her hand tight. "Stand tall, words cannot hurt you." Aerith held his hand back and geniunely smiled with a nod. "I will father. I promise not to disappoint you." She replied and handed him his cane. The Duke was in poor health on these late years, constantly being accompanied by a servant to be reminded of his medicine. "You'll be alright? I can help you down these steps father." Aerith offered, obviously worried about her father but he simply shook his head, reassuring her he would be just fine. "I am still too young for this steps." The Duke jokes. "Besides, isn't that young man Libertus coming? He'll need some space in order to get changed. By the way.. Where is he?"

"I am here Duke!" Libertus came out of hiding, behind some bushes and bowed. Oh, if his mother or sisters knew he would definitely be dead. Wait- Would the Duke vouch for him? He was part of this grand plan too after all! "Your clothes are inside." Aerith calls from inside the carriage and then steps outside so the boy could enter. "And the mask! Don't forget the mask." Libertus nodded and started changing into the attire they had prepared, the Duke letting out a brief laugh at the whole scene. They sure looked like smugglers or criminals of some kind, even a guard had his eyes peeled on them. "I am going now, your mother will be upset if I am a minute more late. I trust the matter in your hands." He said and procceeded to walk towards the palace's entrance, slowly with his cane. Aerith leaned against the carriage to stand watch.

((To sped things up I'll post Squall, Duke and everyone else's introduction to the next post. I had some questions to Sarah and because of time difference it will take long to get my reply Razz So um, I don't want to make you wait.))

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Mon 13 Mar 2017, 7:01 pm
Natsuko looked at his queen, not seeming too surprised by her idea. "What do you wish me to do?" He asked, listening very intentionally to her reasons behind her decision. "Forgive me for what I'm about to say your highness, but your son is kind of an asshole..." He glanced over of the window of the carriage at the young lady who held the rank as the head guard. "And I worry he has followers that will go against you in a heartbeat," he said as his eyes met Astrid's again. His expression softened for a brief moment when she said that she could only trust him. "I live to serve only you my queen." The King had a bright smile on his face as he spoke with the woman. Tsuki seemed a little tense, scanning the room to see who was all there. "I see. A shame, but we all know what it's like to choose duty over other things," Kumori said before looking back at his son and motioning for him to come forward. "Kotaro will going through the same training soon, once we find him a suitor," The King explained, Kotaro trying to sneak out a soft sigh. This ball was clearly something he didn't want to be attending right now. "Thank you, but most of these women are here for a chance at power and nothing more. I would prefer to get to know someone first, but my father can't seem to understand that," Kotaro said. Like her own son, he also wasn't afraid to give his opinion, but his views were very different. Kumori cleared his throat, his son avoiding eye contact as the man glared at him. "Anyways... please enjoy yourself. I am waiting for a few more arrivals before we begin. If you need anything, Eri here will be happy to help," the king explained to quickly change the subject as Eri stepped forward and bowed to Astrid.

Aito glanced about the room as they entered, seeing the prince was currently preoccupied with a guest. He looked down at the young woman with a smile upon hearing Amaryllis's words. He leaned down by her ear and began to whisper to her, "Don't worry. Just be yourself and if anyone asks who you are, say you are my underling. I brought you here for some formal training and as my personal guest. No one will question beyond that and if they do have them speak with me personally." He stood tall once again, holding out his hand for her to take it before leading her further into the room where the crowds were and began looking about for familiar faces. "I shall introduce you to the prince personally once he has a free moment," he said, wondering how things would play out.

The Viscount glanced back at his two brothers and snapped his fingers to get their attention, more because he didn't want them to embarrass him, but also so they could come greet a few others in the room. Kaii and Kei both stopped what they were doing instinctively and immediately went to their brother's side. The two of them were very well trained by their eldest brother. "Come. We shall greet the Duke and a few others before I leave for my meeting with the King," Toshiro said with a smile as he saw the Duke returning from outside. "Yes brother," the two boys responded and followed Toshiro on either side, about a step behind him to show ranking with Kaii on the right and Kei on the left. "Welcome Duke. It is always a pleasure to see you again," Toshiro said, giving a slight bow. The only times he had ever met the Duke was when he was here for meetings with the council and the two of them were technically the same rank, despite the different titles. None the less, he still felt it necessary to keep good ties with the people he worked with and show them the respect he felt they deserved. The four of them were still near the entrance. Aerith and Libertus would be able to see them when they entered for the ball. "I don't believe you have met my brothers. This is Kaii and Kei," Toshiro added, motioning to each of them as he introduced the two. The boys both gave a small bow though their masks prevented anyone from seeing their expression. "Has your family been well?" While Toshiro was speaking with the Duke, Kei's head wandered from side to side as if he was looking for someone in particular, his familiar cat mask that he always wore was sort of his only hope of the boy spotting him as well. Kaii suddenly elbowed his younger brother in the arm, Kei giving a small whimper as he rubbed his arm and his gaze fell on his brother for a brief moment before going back to listening to the conversation.

Raven looked at Squall and gave the man a nod, hoping the man wouldn't get himself caught before he split off into the crowd. He was looking about, trying to decide who the other target would be that could do the most damage, both emotionally and economically. For a brief moment, he paused, his eyes fixing on the Queen. Astrid wouldn't be able to recognize him... or at least he hoped while he wore his black mask in the shape of a bird. He needed to be careful while she was here. The last thing he needed was attention drawn to himself. As he stared, Natsuko met his gaze and Raven quickly vanished into the crowd again. Natsuko narrowed his eyes before stepping next to Astrid and whispering into her ear to avoid anyone else overhearing them. "The man in the bird mask seems suspicious. We should keep an eye on him," Natsuko said before nodding his head in the direction Raven had gone. Raven had other priorities than to attack his mother's old friend. His attention was now on Viscount Toshiro. A man of the people they say, but he had done his research. The man had a darker side that he kept hidden and he was going to use that to his advantage.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Sun 26 Mar 2017, 5:53 pm
Despite of Aito's reassuring words that everything would be fine, Amaryllis was shaking in her knees, too scared to do anything more than nod her head as she looked around the beautiful and colourful gowns before glancing down at her own black with white details one. "I- I don't think it was a good idea coming here sir. I mean look at their dresses and look at mine. Theirs took days, even weeks to bet ready and mine only hours and scrap fabrics." She whisper-yelled scared from the looks she was getting from those attending the royal ball before stopped dead in her tracks at the mention of her meeting with the prince. "Me? Meet-meet the prince? Are you insane? What does a servant girl from a village has to do with his royal highness?" The brunette panicked and took a hold of her dress, looking back and sizing the pros and cons of leaving the ball that moment.

Astrid nodded at the king's words once. She tilted her head down ever so slightly, her small smile not leaving her lips. "Thank you Your Majesty." She said as she turned her golden eyes to the male that took a step forward bowing to her. "Don't bow to me boy. I am not your Queen. You should bow towards where your loyalties lie." She chuckled helping the palace guard stand up before she walked away, her eyes meeting momentarily with a boy wearing a mask resembling that of a bird before Natsuko said they should be keeping their guard up for him. "Can you bring him to me? I want to know what schiemes are to be played first thing." She said staring at the direction the masked man left towards.

Evelyndt's eyes went wide momentarilly at Laurene's words. "Really? Perhaps it could be of use of us to make a purchase of some cakes from there. There are times that when your father calls her his daughter, I get a sour taste." She whispered discretely to her daughter. Smiling to the king and the prince one last time she took her daughter and moved along not wanting to hold the line any longer. "If she learns how to read, she will probably want to get involved in out estate busines Laurene. It is of vital importance she doesn't. Not yet at least. I do hope though, she is not to get too comfy. Instead of finding a husband for you, we should have taken care of her but you know your father." She sighed and lead her to the side of the room where she could inspect everything in that room.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Wed 05 Apr 2017, 3:23 pm
The wooden cane made sharp noise upon hitting the cold, marble tiles, filling the ball room with echoing sounds. Duke Luce was a respected and good man, having gained the frienship of many Kingdoms and important persons, thus, a great number of people shifted their glance to him, slightly bowing. "Duke Luce of Rivenfell, your Highness." Meredith, one of the estate's retainers declared and made a full bow to the Prince before walking behind the Duke after having retrieved the cane. "Your- Your Highness." Duke Luce repeated in an almost stutter due to his poor health and attempted to slowly bow, a sob escaping Meredith's lips at his frail posture. "Your Grace." She discreetly offered his cane in a whisper but the Duke was too proud to stand at the Prince's sight with it and refused. Instead, he made a few steps closer to Kotaro and smiled. "Thank you for your invitation your Highness. I am sure my daughters and wife are pleased to see you again. Please... If there is anything we can do to help..."

Shortly after the Duke's introduction, Aerith and Libertus followed - the latter dressed in female clothing. "If your sister finds out about this, she is so going to kill us." Libertus shivered in fear as he whispered to Aerith and held her hand tight. See, the dress and wig belonged to Laurene and Aerith 'borrowed' them without permission to dress him. As the Baker family would probably be around, it wasn't safe for Libertus to simply wear a mask! Hence, the outrageous plan came up in the Duke's mind and the boy protested with all his strength to no avail. "Come on, you look cute. Just be quiet." Aerith replies with a soft chuckle, hoping Libertus won't have his cover blown thanks to his voice and then bows before the Prince, urging the boy to follow her actions as well. "Pleased to meet you your Highness, this is my distant cousin Fionna." She politely says while Libertus remained speechless, not because he was instructed to, but because Aerith sure had a wild imagination and calm composure fit for an actress. After bowing, Libertus forcefully smiled at everyone and hurried to the shadows of the room while Aerith stayed by her father's side. The Duke then turned to the Viscount and slowly bowed again, Meredith letting out a whimper at the Duke's stubborness. "What a lovely family you have Viscount Toshiro. This is my youngest daughter Aerith and her erm... cousin Fionna. My eldest daughter and wife sadly prefer the company of each other rather than spend time with an old man." He introduced his family as well, making a small joke in the proccess, acknowledging the fact he was old and frail. However, his words were truthful and sincere. "A pleasure to meet you." Aerith simply bowed and Meredith after, nudging her to give the cane to its owner with a grunt. "I was hoping to invite you for lunch one day, arrange a meeting for our families to meet but I am afraid my tight schedule has even kept me away from my daughters. Viscount Toshiro is a very honorable man Aerith, you will find him very interesting. Please, do keep company to my youngest daughter, she is too shy and often disoriented to make friends in such events." The Duke lastly said before taking his cane back to receive support. Aerith was left speechless with a blush, believing Father's words were simply too much if not oversharing. "Ah, please, he is being polite." She bows again to the Viscount, the blush still strong on her cheeks and averted his eyes towards Libertus who was tempted to eat that pie that God knows where he found.

Where else but the buffet could the only son of the Baker family, Libertus, be found? That is always the case, however, under this night's circumstances he became a she and remained away from his favorite spot. While eating his favorite baked product next to the Duke, an apple pie, crumbs fell on the floor due to his clumsiness resulting in kneeling down in a hurry to clean them up, placing them back to the dress's pockets where he originally hid his apple pie and then got up to bow at the Viscount. "A pleasure to meet yo-" A gasp escaped his lips at the sight of Kei, the boy that frequent his bakery. Should it even be a surprise? The boy said he would also attent. Still, Libertus was Fionna now. He couldn't afford to have his cover blown or else the Baker family will be furious. But... That doesn't mean he can't talk to Kei, he thinks with a sly grin and wonders how to approach him without being suspected.

A grunt full of disgust escaped Laurene's mouth as she and Evelyndt were gossiping about Aerith and her affairs with the estate and family, hiding her sour expression behind the lace fan. Her 'sister' would soon be of age, meaning they had to find a suitable husband for Aerith as soon as possible in order to get rid of her. Evelyndt's worries regarding Aerith wanting to meddle into the family estate business passed on to Laurene, who in no way would let such thing happen. "Maybe I should talk to Father. Shall we find a suitable husband for her, don't you think Father will finally be at peace?" Her eyes then discreetly scanned the ballroom as the fan lowered, trying to find any candidates. Perhaps the Duke wouldn't worry too much if Aerith found someone to have a family with. Someone caring but not too rich. Just respectful enough to uphold the family name. "Any ideas, mother?" She asked, her glance suddenly stopping at Aito and the woman he seemed to be talking an awful long time with, filling her with jealousy. Yet, there was nothing Laurene could do about her feelings, if they were even known. Her parents, especially her mother pressured her into marrying her childhood friend Kotaro and they had higher expectations of her than to court with a lowly priest... And thus, her expression turned grim.

Squall and Raven were both truly remarkable at blending between the crowd but sometimes Squall's tall height  and long dark hair made him a landmark and an interest for the ladies. This time was no different at all. His glance shifted to Queen Astrid as his partner talked and then to the Viscount before finally turning his gaze at the Duke. "Perhaps..." He exhaled after weightening his idea. "Someone loved by the crowd might create enough disturbance and gain us an opporunity..." Squall spoke in his deep voice as he rubbed his chin, not particularly going into details but hopefully Raven would understand who he meant. "It is heartening to watch the Duke suffer due to poor health, especially after he has offered so much to both Kingdom's but someone has to die for our cause..." His stare then fell to the ground as he let out an inaudible sigh. One death for the greatness of many. One noble man... One... man. Were he and Raven always killers? Squall doesn't want to think about his past anymore. So many years being alone, save for his friend Raven, have desensitized his heart making him ruthless at times. "How shall we proceed?"

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

"Thank you. Yours is lovely as well. You have raised some fine and beautiful young women," Toshiro said, referring to the Duke's daughters as he glanced at both Laurene and Aerith with a charming smile. "That's alright. This one here is the same way. Always avoiding the crowds and sticking close to one of us," Toshiro said as he put his arm around Kei and moved him a step closer, pulling up his mask so it was on his head. Kei ever so slightly lowered his head, his posture showing that he was a little shy and uncomfortable even being here, unable to hide his blush from the sudden attention. "I see. Well, I'm honored that you think so high of me Duke and it would be a greater honor to ask your lovely daughter for a dance," Toshiro said as he smiled at Aerith, holding out his hand. Kaii leaned over to his younger brother, whispering something in his ear and Kei stiffled a laugh as their older brother flirted with Aerith. It seemed the two boys were used to Toshiro's charming nature. Kei glanced over at Fionna, noticing that the young lady had been looking at him as he tilted his head to one side curiously. He couldn't place his finger on it, but she seemed familiar for some reason. Then again, he had met a lot of people. "If you'll excuse us," Kaii said as he wrapped his arm around his younger brother's neck from behind and began dragging him back over to the table with the food so he could continue to flirt with women as he pulled his own mask up. "You need to quit being so shy. No woman is ever going to talk to you if you keep acting like that," Kaii said, kind of giving his brother a lecture as they walked up to the table before letting him go, then placed one hand on his hip and now close enough for 'Fionna' to hear them. Kei turned around and looked up at him, rubbing his neck and slightly pouting. Kaii shrugged and smiled, using his free hand to mess up his brother's hair. "Loosen up little bro. Just because we're Viscounts doesn't mean that we can't have some fun. Find yourself a nice girl, dance, have a few drinks and maybe get lucky," Kaii said with a wink. Kei blushed heavily as he smacked his brother's hand away and started fixing his hair. "Please don't compare my ideals of a fun night to yours...," Kei said, his brother laughing in response before Kaii patted his back, making Kei stumble forward a step before Kaii turned and walked over to a small group of girls to put on a bit of his own charm. Kei let out a heavy sigh, feeling embarrassed by his brothers. Sometimes he felt like the mature one between the three of them. He took a moment to look around at the staff, seeing if he could spot Libertus, but there was still no sign of him. Maybe he ended up not coming after all...

Eri stood up and looked into Astrid's eyes. "My loyalties lie with our allies as well m'lady... as long as they remain allies," he explained to Astrid, at the same time giving her almost a warning before turning and began to lead her to her room with Tsuki followed close behind her queen. Natsuko glanced back in the direction that he had seen Raven vanish into the crowd before giving a nod. "I will return with him momentarily," Natsuko said, then slipped back into the crowd without being noticed while Eri continued to escort the two women. "Be as discreet as possible. Wait for the right opportunity before making your move. Last thing I need is to bail your ass out of trouble," Raven said quietly with a small smirk as he looked at Squall, patting the man on the shoulder. Then he felt a hand on his own shoulder as Natsuo leaned in so both of them could hear him. "I need you to come with me. Your friend is welcome to join us... unless you'd like me to draw attention to both of you," Natsuko said in a low and commanding tone, squeezing Raven's shoulder. Raven glanced down at the hand, then up at Squall for a moment. With a small sigh, he motioned for Squall to follow him as he turned and began following Natsuko out of the room, more curious as to what this was about and if the man knew their intentions or not. He stayed back several feet with his partner, just in case they needed to make a quick escape as he kept a close eye out for each and every possible exit they could take.

"What you dressed in sets you apart from the rest and in a good way, trust me. Something like this is what will get you noticed by people like him," Aito said, referring to the prince as he smiled at the young woman. He stopped with her and watched as she seemed to grow even more nervous. "Amaryllis, calm down. Just be yourself. Besides, his sister used to help the staff out despite her royal status. But you never know how a person is unless you give them a chance and don't assume that they want nothing to do with 'a servant girl'," he explained, doing his best to give her some confidence and an idea that not all rich people thought they were any better than everyone else. "Now come," he said, putting his hand on the small of her back and continued to lead her over to the prince. He didn't seem to notice Laurene glaring daggers at the two of them. Kumori went back to sit, urging his son to begin mingling with people. Kotaro sighed to himself before nodding and began to walk among the throne room, soon noticing that Aito was approaching him with a young woman who seemed strangely dressed for such an occasion. "Hello your majesty. Are you enjoying this evening?" Aito asked as he gave a slight bow, urging for Amaryllis to do the same. "Sure. If by enjoy you mean being pressured to pick a complete stranger to be my wife before the end of the night or marry my childhood acquaintance who I barely get along with, then yes. I'm having a terrific time," Kotaro said, clearly unamused by the circumstances. "It's nice to see this gathering hasn't killed your sour mood," Aito said with a sigh as he stood tall once again. "I'm sure you remember Amaryllis. The woman who brought you a drink earlier," Aito said, not even bothering to hide her identity. Kotaro looked at Amaryllis for a brief moment, surprised that she was here as he seemed to avoid eye contact with her. "Hello...," he said, no longer being as outspoken like he was a few moments ago.

Astrid smiled brightly at the male's words though she shook her head gently. "A war between our two countries is something that I do not wish to see and so seems to think your king too." She smiled and went on walking with Tsuki close behind her. "Have you had the chance to meet Tsuki, sir Eri? She is one of my most invaluable people of court." The Nifleheim Queen said pointing at the woman following close behind her with her chin motioning for the girl to come forth. Her mind though was not where her body was. She was thinking of Natsuko and the strange man with the bird mask.

Evelyndt nodded and looked around, her mind running wild with possible suitors for the adopted girl her husband chose to be a father to. She wasn't as young as she used to be once and she knew things would be outrageously bad if she let that continue. She never agreed to the complete adoption within the family of that girl. Aerith would have done a marvelous job at the kitchen or even at the stables or as a handmaiden for either her or her daughter. But her husband would have nothing of this, he wouldn't hear of anything sensible and did his own mind altogether. "Perhaps a lord of some sort would be nice. A Nifleheim general wouldn't be too bad and why not their prince? At least she'd be tucked away and hidden." She hummed and spoke to her smiling at her idea.

"Of course it does! It shows ignorance for the extravagance of the ball. It screams I didn't know what to make and that I didn't have the budget for something better than that. As for being noticed, I am not so sure that's a good thing. I don't belong here sir." Amaryllis blushed and went back to Aito taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly. She wasn't fond of having that many people and she was trying to deal with that blindly following the man who was free to talk to the future king and slap his head without fear. She instantly bowed down when she noticed the prince talking with his friend, her head tilted down as she didn't rise from her curtsy at all. "Good evening to you too your highness." She said in a calm voice though she did her best not to start shaking. She wasn't supposed to be there, she didn't belong and it could be seen on the way the people around her spoke and dressed. She was a shadow of the seamstress and a few of the dresses and suits there had been of her own making under the watchful eye of the madam ruling the clothing lines of the castle and the court.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

A faint blush appeared on Aerith cheeks as the Viscount offered his hand, not because of the invitation but rather because of the unexpected choice of a dame. Nonetheless, she held his hand Toshiro's hand and walked towards the center of the ballroom, which she utterly despised knowing that she would be the center of attention. "Thank you for this invitation my Lord, however, I believe my sister would have been a much better partner than I." Aerith discreetly whispered to the Viscount while not even once meeting his eyes, hinting the crowd's opinion regarding herself and how it may hurt his fame. "Regardless, thank you for holding my Father in the highest regard, for as he also does. There wouldn't be a moment while having our lunch together without mentioning the great deeds you have done my Lord." She continued, again, not meeting his glance. The reason for this action wasn't because of shyness, if anything Aerith is the exact opposite of it - always speaking her mind but due to seeing herself as 'lowly'. Why? Because Aerith is used to the isolation, the whispers and glares she receives from many for being an orphan with no land or fortune that found its way towards riches by getting adopted by Duke Luce.

And the dancing pair of course, couldn't hide from Laurene's attention. "Look." She gently nudged her mother, staring at Aerith and Viscount Toshiro with full interest. "It's the great Viscount Father always loves to talk about." Laurene continued, her words filled with sarcasm. No, she didn't have anything againt Lord Toshiro but after hearing so much about him, literally everyday, she got sick of him. "The age difference is quite big..." She mumbles on while briefly getting lost to her thoughts before addressing Evelyndt once again. "A general may be a good choice but how about the Viscount? If I am not mistaken he is not betroded... yet. Moreover, Aerith won't be in Rivenfell. She will be tucked away and hidden indeed, Mother. You should talk to Father about this. What a greater wish than to marry his favorite daughter to his favorite Viscount." Laurene finally said, hiding that evil grin by masking her face with a feather fan. And for a rare moment, the jealousy she had for the servant girl getting her crush's attention almost disappeared as she had bigger plans to attent to.

Meanwhile, the familiar thud on the marble floor caused by the cane was becoming heard louder and louder as the Duke approached his family, wearing a warm and genuine smile on his face. Meredith followed from behind, still sweating in fear about how the Duke might fall due to his fragile health. Gosh, she should bring a chair or something and away she goes. "There you are my lovely ladies." He greeted by kissing the hand of each, showing that he loved dearly both, well, three of them including Aerith. "I would introduce you to Viscount Toshiro and his brothers had you not being glued together, gossipping - cough - gossi - about everyone." The Duke's coughing had gotten worse, not even letting him finish the sentence properly. Laurene lowered herself with a faint sigh, wondering why Rivenfell's best doctors couldn't find a cure for this illness. She couldn't watch her father suffer anymore. "Maybe you should take a break Father. We can even return to home and let you rest. You've greeted just about everyone worth greeting in this castle, they wouldn't judge you for leaving early due to your illness." Laurene managed to say in concern while holding her father's right shoulder, searrching frantically for Meredith who had gone searching for a chair.

Libertus, erm Fionna, couldn't really do much after being left alone - the Viscount's brothers not being far away and especially not out of his hearing range as he listened to them whisper, letting out an unconscious chuckle at the words of the older. Well, Libertus couldn't talk or else his cover would be blown, hence he decided to stay silent but still approach Kei. "Ahem." Libertus faked a cough while standing in front of the boy, making their height difference obvious. Shortly after, he pulled out his pocket a very questionable, semi covered in a red and white checkered towel, half eaten apple pie and offered it to Kei with a smile. Okay, it was a bad choice and Libertus probably knew but it was the best he could do at the moment to spark a conversation. Plus, it was an apple pie he had made before departing for the castle because you know - he always carries emergency snacks.

A frown formed on Squall's eyebrows as an unknown hand touched his friend's shoulder, causing him to be on high alert, almost reaching for his dagger. The stranger certainly did not seem trustable but watching how Raven decided to play along, he simply stood silent and followed them right after in discretion. Last thing they need is to gain anyone's attention. That is... Until Meredith fell onto Squall by accident. "Oh no! I am so sorry, please forgive me." She fell quickly to her knees, asking for forgiveness. "Umm." He awkwardly exhaled, noticing one or two curious stares and then knelt down as well by her side in order to minimize the damage done. "It's - It's alright. No harm done." Squall smiled in an attempt to wrap this up quickly and then helped the woman stand up, only to receive a gasp as a form of thank you. "You look so familiar!" She uttered, leaving him speachless as his eyes blinked twice in disbelief. "No, I don't." Squall swiftly replied and managed to hide into the crowd and find his way back to Raven and the strange man. "But you look-" Meredith sighed, losing sight of the man.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Toshiro's smile grew as the young lady placed her hand in his and led Aerith to the center of the dance floor. A chuckle passed his lips, turning to face her as he placed his free hand on her hip. "I have known your sister for a long time and I can honestly say that I have no interest in someone who manipulates to gain favor," he said as he began to dance with the young woman. The irony was, he was no different when people crossed him in the wrong way. The ammount of information and blackmail he had on people made him a rather good asset and ally. On the outside he was a very kind person, but deep down he could ruin someone's life with the snap of his fingers. Only those he trusted were treated extremely well, such as the Duke, his brothers and the King. "Your father is too kind. I merely do what I can within my ability and power." Toshiro watched the girl closely, his lips graced with a smile once again as he leaned down next to her ear. "Se détendre. (Relax) Enjoy yourself," he whispered softly in an attempt to ease some of her discomfort.

Kei, though being awkward and distracted, seemed to have a different demeanor with the change of scenery. He had always had a somewhat proper air to him. He stood tall with his head held high as he glanced about the room as if scanning for someone specific. The cough snapped him to attention as his head turned to Fionna. His gaze wandered down to her hands with curiousity as she unconvered the towel to reveal a partially eaten apple pie. His expression softened as a smile crept across his lips, lifting his head to meet Fionna's eyes, slightly bowing his head respectfully. "Thank you. It looks delicious," he said, his hands brushing against hers as he took the piece of pie. "I saw you enter with the Duke's family. Are they friends of yours?" Kei asked with a charming smile.

Eri stopped in front of the door that led to the room the Queen would be staying in during her visit and opened it for the two women to enter. He only nodded in response, not wanting to give his opinion on the subject well knowing much of their kingdom's strain had to do with Astrid's husband during his rule and the two king's disagreeing on many things they believed was right. Eri turned his attention to Tsuki as she stepped forward, nodding his head in acknowledgement to her presence. "A pleasure miss." Tsuki forced a smile. "The pleasure is mine sir." Eri looked back at Astrid, addressing her once again. "I shall return once the king is prepared," he said, exiting the room without another word.

Raven walked in silence next to Squall, only glancing back breifly when his friend ran into someone. Natsuko said nothing as he led the two of them to the Queen's chambers, stopping in front of the door and knocking softly, waiting for permission to enter. As soon as he received an answer, he slowly opened the door and stepped aside, allowing the two of them to enter first. Raven glanced at Squall for a moment before staring into the room and stepping inside. Natsuko followed the two inside, shutting the door behind him and blocking their only escape. The room was very quiet as he glanced about until his eyes fell upon the Queen. He made no motion to acknowledge her status as he gazed at her with piercing blue eyes, somehow a look, even with his mask on, that looked very familiar as he stared her down. There was no fear, no sign of concern for the summons as he stood tall and proud. Though the young man never knew his father, he was a mirror image of the man. Anyone who knew the king on a personal level, it wouldn't take much to see that similarity. The only difference between the two was that he would do anything for the ones he cared about. Tsuki stood close to her queen, watching the two men very closely. Something about Raven seemed familiar, but she herself could not put her finger on it.

Aito merely smiled as he watched the girl grow more uncomfortable. It wasn't an easy life, he had to admit. The attention of everyone's eyes was noticeable, but he knew much of it had to do with jealousy from the prince's acknowledgement of her presence while others stood in wait and wondered when they would get a chance to speak with him. This was after all an event for him to find a suitor to join him at his side on the throne. Kotaro shifted a little. You would think he was used to these kind of events, but this was had put a lot of pressure on him. Aito nodded his head towards Amaryllis, urging the prince to try and stir up a conversation. "Um..." Kotaro took a moment to think as he looked upon the girl again, clearing his throat. "Would you like to take a walk with me? I think I need a bit of fresh air and would appreciate the company," he asked. Knowing she was a servant, he wondered if he could express some of his true feelings about this event without the worry of her spreading it around. As the two spoke, Aito quietly slinked away without notice to give them a moment alone.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

Evelyndt rushed to her husband's side in worry. "My love, it would be inappropriate to leave a highborn lady like Laurene unescorted. Besides, you should have introduced us to the Viscount and his brothers regardless as your daughter and I just had a magnificent idea." she said excitedly taking her husband's side aiding him stand and walk. "I think this has been enough socialising my lord. You shall sit now and I will hear no objections."  She scolded though her voice was, in one of the rarest occasions, laced with honey instead the acidic venom she usually carried. Her skirts would swish with every step she took leading the Duke to the closest vacant chair. Her light grey ensemble of silk seemed to shine as if made out of silver as she stood by the Duke. "It looks almost as if Viscount Toshiro is interested in Aerith. And they look like a good match. Is he spoken for, my love?" She spoke looking at the two dancing before glancing momentarily at Laurene and then turning her attention to her husband looking intrigued by the idea.

Astrid nodded Eri off andd sighed unclasping the cloak from her shoulders and letting it rest on a char nearby before turning to Tsuko. "Had my son not been how he is, I would have arranged for you two to get married. Sadly, I am ashamed to say he is my son." She said right before the door opened and Natsuko along with two more men walked in the room leading to her freezing on her spot. The resemblance was uncanny even with the mask on and momentarily she thought her dead husband had rose for the grave though she knew better. "Had his body not been burnt, I'd think my late husband came back to life." Astrid said as her golden eyes met with the piercing blue staring back at her. "Sit. Get a drink. We have a lot to discuss." She said as she poured one for herself. It was obvious she had recognised her husband's illegitimate son and she couldn't have been happier for their resemblance as it would prove crucial to her schiemes.

Amaryllis could barely breathe at this moment. She couldn't believe Prince Kotaro had actually paid attention to her to the smallest amount. She could clearly hear the voices of her friends at the village tweeting her stories of girls that came from humble backgrounds and rose high to society because of highborn lords and dukes falling in love with them but she would all shoot them down as simple fairytales. She smiled and nodded her head. "It would be my honor Your Highness." she said and took his arm as the ettiquette demanded of them as her other hand made sure she didn't trip over her make-shift dress. Once slightly out of the part of the room highest in density of the ball's guests, she felt a little more at ease even though the stares hadn't ceased in the slightest. "Are you enjoying your ball Your Highness?" She asked, her voice small and gentle, perhaps a little afraid as well although she hadn't been this morning, but then again, this morning she wasn't so out of her element either. With everyone watching her every move, she felt a little threatened and exposed, as if everyone could see past her dress and mask and recognise her as the seamstress girl.

Forget Me Not Empty Re: Forget Me Not

An almost inaudible chuckle escaped from Aerith's lips at the mention of her step sister and how true the Viscount's statement was. She, however, did not think of Laurene as a bad person nor did have any suspicions about her dancing partner. "Then you must know that she plays 'the game' the best in this ballroom." She says, finally meeting his eyes once he told her to relax. Yet, she was still shy; feeling she did not belong there and suffice to say, she did not play 'the game' nor knew how to. Her hand slowly moved to Viscount Toshiro's back, gently draging him closer with a smirk and then discreetly gazed at the crowd, awaiting their reaction. "Maybe, I am worse than my sister." Aerith whispered, her tone seductive with a hint of playfulness as they continued dancing, not even blushing slightly at her actions and words. She was defending her sister after all, no matter how immature or cold Laurene may be. After all, Aerith always believed that Laurene is misunderstood by almost everyone. "My father..." She resumes to their earlier conversation. "... is in poor health as of late. It breaks my heart to watch him attend this ball just because society demands his presence. He is a very kind man but a fool sometimes. I may be asking too much... and I may not know my place... However, I wish you would speak some sense to him and ask him kindly to go home and rest. He won't listen to us, maybe he will listen to you - the man he holds in the highest regard." Aerith boldly requests, though she is aware the Viscount is a stranger and someone of a high position, and her hesitation can be seen through her expression; avoiding to meet his glance once again. Perhaps her bid is too much to ask for but no one else can change the Duke's mind.

At the same time, Duke Luce of Rivenfell sat down the chair his wife escorted him to, his body trembling as it bended and then let out a sigh of relief as he rested his cane behind the seat. His body was failing him, little by little. It wouldn't be long till that one day comes, when he won't be able to get off his bed, even with the help of his cane. That, he knows yet there are still some loose ends he is attempting to tie, instead of resting. The welfare of his people always came first; the other matters were unimportant. "My Love." He addressed Duchess Evelyndt, his wife, with a weak voice, trying to turn to her side. "Both our daughters are exceptional young women. I would love to see them married to someone they love." He replied while glancing at his oldest daughter at the word love, and then chuckled, receiving a glare from Laurene afterwards.

"Oh, yes Father." She sarcastically replied, followed by a faint grunt as she started fanning her face since it had turned hot. Was it infuriation or shyness, nobody could know but both her parents were used to her fits. "Aito is a perfect match for me." She shamelessly added, expecting to be reprimanded by her mother. Ever since he first stepped foot in the palace at the tender age of thirteen, she had fell in love with Aito - the lowly Priest - and oldest brother to Eri, meaning she was only five years old when they met. Nontheless, she felt ignored by both the brothers, if not unwanted. Oh, just how many times she nagged at her mother that she wants to marry that Priest... and how many times has her mother grounded her for talking nonsense.

The Duke shook his head negatively, wondering when this infatuation of his daughter will pass away. His wife had denied this potential marriage many years ago, stating that their daughter deserved better. Well, Evelyndt is a strong and authoritative woman, thus his opinion is not of import in these matters. A heavy sigh escaped from his lips that was soon turned into a short laugh. "The age gap between you and that Priest is vast... And not to mention his positi-" He could not even finish his sentence before Laurene interrupted him. "But Father! You and mother have a 15 years age difference! And not to mention Aerith and Viscount Toshiro are 12 years apart." Duke Luce shook his head once again, almost defeated. "Please my daughter, let's not have this conversation again. I am sure your mother will agree." He says and turns his head towards Evelyndt, asking for help by making puppy eyes despite his age.

There was no use in talking further about the subject, Laurene understood this much and thus shook her head in disappointment, leaving in anger afterwards. "They will never understand!" She uttered under her breath while clenching her fist and headed towards the balcony, where people were sparse, and then leaned towards the railing, letting out a heavy sigh. They had this talk countless times, nothing ever changing. Maybe, she should do as her parents suggest and forget about Aito. Besides, he's shown little to no interest towards her but it's not like she has made her feelings known to him. How could she? There would only be frowns and whispers. Another sighed escaped from her lips as she gazed down the balcony and at the beautiful, well kept garden wondering whether the day she will marry someone she loves will come. Both sides have been pushing her to marry the Prince, especially after the Princess' death. Kotaro... They weren't that acquanticed despite spending countless days and nights at the Adraelian Castle to her Mother's insistence, because she prefered hanging out with the royal guards when Aito or Eri didn't pay enough attention to her. Speaking of Aito, he had been mingling with a woman Laurene did not know about and had lost sight of both of them. "How is she any better than me?!" She gritted her teeth while quietly talking to herself, hopefully not loud enough for others to hear. Last thing she needs, is snickers and laughs from people that do not mind their business.

At the other side of the ballroom, Libertus unconsciously gasped at the change of air Kei had upon getting his attention, thinking it was unexpected of the boy. Speechless as he was,  he realized only too late that he had given the young Viscount his already half eaten apple pie, resulting in another loud gasp. "No!" He awkwardly shouted before attempting to snatch the item from the boy's hands in embarrassment and then ate it all in one go, so the evidence would disappear. Thank God he presented himself as Fionna, or else things would get complicated if not weird. "Umm... I am their... aunt? Fives times removed...? Or was it cousin?" Libertus scratched his head while mumbling quietly, trying to remember his role. He decided to opt for something more vague. "I am distant family." Hopefully this answer works, he thinks and continues with a slight blush on his cheeks. "Your... Y- your mask is v-very... beautiful." He fidgeted, unsure of how to keep the conversation going. As Fionna, he assumed he would be extremely boring to Kei. Good Heavens, taking to him out of the blue, he must've been labelled as annoying already. Still, Libertus was glad the boy had attended the ball as promised but was oblivious to his identity, since this was a ball that only important people were invited to and guessed Kei must have been undercover as well. "I... Ermm... Stars. S- Stars... You want to see them?" Okay, he is totally not stuttering or being nervous. If the young Viscount declines his invitation to head at the garden, Libertus will so going to faint. Like, from where to begin. At least he managed to introduce himself, so that is scratched off the list. Next is explaining why he is in women's clothing. He feels like fainting already and hasn't even heard the answer from Kei.

Back to Queen Astrid's chambers, Squall and Raven awaited for Natsuko to open the doors, his mind constantly filled with the memory of the retainer he had stumbled upon, worried whether his cover was blown or not. How could he look familiar to anyone in this Kingdom?! Unless... No, that is just some wishful thinking on his part. Dead people do not come back. His eyes locked with Raven as they stepped inside and then averted his gaze to scan the quarters before glancing at the Queen and her other visitors, only to stare back to Raven in surprise at the Queens words. He was speechless and he wasn't his place to comment upon anything at the moment. Squall simply awaited for Raven to take the lead, his friend whom had no idea who he was, not even how old. Maybe, he knows enough to comfort the man and no more. Besides, Squall has a few secrets of his own, like what is his real name, or who he is. He doesn't know what the Queen saw in Raven but he hopes there will be chaos tonight, as they plan to assassinate Duke Luce of Rivenfell to create uncertainity between the common people and the rich alike. The death of a beloved, powerful man, will be enough to shake everyone.

As the masked man she bumped onto disappeared as fast as he had appeared, Meredith stood speechless for a moment, her mouth hanging open in shock. Just who exactly is this man? She could not be silent about the incident and thus run off to find the Duchess, only to spot Laurene stand at the balcony first. "My Lady!!!" Meredith approached, not having noticed the young duchess' earlier fit. In return, she received a death glare from Laurene, as expected. "What do you want?" She gritted her teeth while making a few steps back, not particurarly being fond of the retainer. Laurene believed the poor and innocent retainer was bad luck, and she had evidence to back up this absurd claim! "My Lady!!!" Meredith repeated, approaching closer in oblivion. "Oh.My.God. You have to see this. I swear I saw a man looking just like Lady Aerith! He was the spitting image of her, I swear! You- you have to see for yourself my lady! Just follow me... this way." Meredith continued while gently pulling Laurene's skirt, urging to follow her but was met with a heavy exhale. "Ahhh, just leave me alone! I don't care what that man looks like. Can't you see I am busy?!" Laurene pulled back her skirt, turning to gaze back to the garden afterwards, totally uninterested in what Meredith's eyes witnessed. Probably a wild imagination was at works, since all of the attendees were masked, she internally brushes off the retainer's thoughts and resumes back to self pity and coming up with wild scenarios about Aito and Amaryllis.

Meredith stared at Laurene dumbfounded after hearing she was busy. Busy with what?! But alas, almost every worker in the estate knows the young Duchess has a wild imagination and often preoccupies herself with said thoughts. I swear to my life that he looked exactly like your youngest daughter my Lady! Although more older I would say... Isn't it interesting!?"
